The Crowd Series is one of my most iconic collections, inspired by my big, beautiful Louisiana family and the joyful spirit of Southern gatherings. I grew up surrounded by cousins, friends, and neighbors—many from families as large and lively as my own—where faith and family were at the heart of everything.
Over the past 12 years, this series has evolved with new patterns, papers, and symbols that reflect the changing seasons of life. Each Crowd painting is a kind of meditation, a reflection on the deep truth that we’re all connected. Rich with personal symbols and intuitive mark-making, these pieces push the boundaries of mixed media and invite you to see something familiar in a new way.

ARTICHOKES
COLLECTION
This series began in 2012 when I lived in Florence, Italy and became captivated by the bold, sculptural form of the artichoke blossom. I painted them in the Florence Botanical Gardens, drawn to their layered shapes and unexpected color—dusky greens, soft purples, deep blues. Since then, I’ve reimagined this form again and again, letting color and movement bring it to life in fresh, expressive ways.

This series was born from my time in New Orleans—walking through the botanical gardens and remembering my first glimpse of Monet’s water lilies as a little girl. There’s a quiet magic in lily ponds, with their soft reflections and mystery just below the surface. These pieces are lyrical and layered, capturing both memory and movement.

I’m endlessly inspired by the shifting tides, golden grasses, and glowing sunsets. These pieces are a love letter to the charm and stillness of the Southern coast.
